Candlemark is designed for private Scripture reflection. The words you type about anxiety, loneliness, family conflict, prayer, guilt, or faith are sensitive. The current MVP keeps those private lines on your device and does not upload them to a Candlemark server.

Private reflection text

Your reflection text is used on-device to suggest a Scripture-shaped response. It is not sold, used for advertising, sent to analytics, or used to train AI models in this MVP.

Analytics

Candlemark collects limited product analytics so we can understand whether the MVP is useful: anonymous page views, anonymous visitors, share attempts, share success or failure, share-limit events, and Plus interest clicks. Analytics do not include the words you type, prayer text, Scripture card content, Bible passages, nicknames, contacts, or the person or app you share with.

Sharing

If you choose to share a prayer or verse, your device opens the system share sheet. You decide which person or app receives it. Candlemark does not publish a public feed.

Bible text source

The Bible reader bundles public-domain editions from eBible.org: World English Bible Protestant Edition, Reina Valera 1909, and Santa Biblia libre Latinoamericano. eBible.org lists these texts as Public Domain. "World English Bible" is a trademark of eBible.org, and BLL is listed by eBible.org as a draft translation under review.

Pastoral and crisis boundary

Candlemark is a reflection aid, not a replacement for prayer, Scripture, church, pastoral care, trusted friends, counseling, medical care, or emergency support. If you are in danger, thinking about self-harm, experiencing abuse, or facing a serious crisis, contact local emergency services, a crisis hotline, a pastor, or a trusted person immediately.
